Do I Have to Pay AirGigs Talent Royalties?

Updated 6 days ago

While we can’t provide legal advice, here’s some helpful information from Section 11 of our Terms on Copyrights, Ownership, and Limitations:

"Unless clearly stated otherwise in the Project description, it is intended that the results of the Services rendered by Seller (the “Works”), including, but not limited to, the copyrights thereto, are to be a work made for hire."

In simple terms, if the seller’s service description, custom offer or proposal doesn’t mention royalties, the work is considered royalty-free under our terms. It's worth noting that some third parties, like record labels or publishers, may require additional documentation beyond our terms. Because of this, many AirGigs clients who plan to release their work commercially choose to request signed “Work For Hire” contracts from the sellers they work with to ensure everything is clearly defined.

We encourage you to discuss this upfront with the seller before placing your order. You’re welcome to upload your contracts or send them directly to the seller via email for e-signing if needed.
