We understand that sometimes unexpected delays happen. If you realize you won’t be able to deliver your order on time, communication is key to maintaining a good relationship with your client and avoiding order cancellations.

Here’s what to do if you need more time:                                                                                       

1. Let the Client Know ASAP

If you anticipate a delay, message the client as soon as possible to explain the situation. Most people appreciate transparency and are willing to work with you when informed in advance.                                                                                                                                              

2. Request a Delivery Extension

You can officially request more time by clicking the "Modify Terms" button on the order page (ie. Manage Sales). This allows you to suggest a new deadline, which the client can either accept or decline.

💡 Pro Tip: Be realistic when setting a new deadline - give yourself enough time to comfortably complete the work while maintaining quality.

Once you click that, you'll see an option to add additional days to the deadline.


3. If the Client Declines the Extension

If the client doesn’t agree to the extension, try to find a mutual resolution. Some options include:

  • Delivering partial work (if appropriate) to show progress.
  • Offering an alternative solution that works for both of you.
  • Canceling the order (only as a last resort).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

4. Avoiding Late Deliveries in the Future

To minimize late deliveries:

  • Set realistic delivery timeframes when creating your services.
  • Factor in potential delays like revisions or other ongoing projects.
  • Communicate early and often with clients, especially for complex projects.                                                                                                                                                                            

Important Note:

If an order becomes very late, the client may choose to cancel it. Keeping clients informed and using the Modify Terms option when needed helps maintain trust and ensures a smooth experience for everyone.
